Better day. Grayson is almost back to his goofy antics. Took both for a walk this morning and he is back to galloping around the park like normal. I've wanted to avoid the "cone of shame" because none of them like it, but this morning I caught him scratching himself under the chin and he pulled out a few staples. Quick run back to the vet and a quick staple job and he is back at home moping with his new fashion statement.

Felt sorry for him, so I ran out to pet store and got an inflatable collar. He's much happier, even if it looks like he is sporting a life preserver.

Claire, on the other hand, was pretty much happy just to not have to wear any new collar.

Still holding out hope for a quiet weekend. Seems like it is the time of year for nuptials. First, ShadowRun celebrated their 22nd anniversary, then Terri marked the big 25, and then Lotta Joy turned 12. I reckon that everyone had the same general time of year in mind when it comes to love. Today marks our 33rd trip around the merry-go-round. It seems like it was just a few years ago we were a pair of newlyweds starting out in life without a clue. Around the time when we got married, Carter was still in office, Mount St Helens would erupt two weeks later, and The Empire Strikes Back opened. A lot of things have changed over the last 3 decades.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! 33 years is so impressive! I know you tend to like quiet celebrations, so I hope you two were able to have that.
I always figured you were a big softie deep down, and making a special trip to the store for Grayson's dignity proves it! And how cool that he's feeling better already. Still sending best wishes for happy results!
Wow, 33 years! I remember when Mt. St. Helens erupted, I think I was in Junior High... Congratulations to you both!
I'm glad Grayson is feeling better. China has her share of skin tags too, and we just had that cherry tomato removed from her ear. I didn't even know of the inflatable collars! She wore that cone of shame for like a week! (Don't tell her?)
Happy Anniversary! 33 years is quite an achievement, though I'm not surprised you've done it. You seem to have this marriage thing pretty well figured out.
Glad to see that Grayson is feeling better already. I didn't know there were inflatable collars to replace the cone. It seems much more humane than the cone of shame.
Congrats on 33 years!
Love the pic of Claire in the flower bed, she is so cute. Those cones are a nightmare, aren't they? The inflatable looks much more manageable.
We celebrate 28 years next month...
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! I was married 33 years when I finally got divorced. . . just sayin'.
You really got me giggling with the "Direct TV dog". Those cones of shame. . .you can't tell me that dogs don't realize they are being humiliated. I'm SO glad you thought to get him a life preserver. You are truly a dog's best friend and a gentleman too.
Oh that inflatable collar looks so much more comfortable than that horrible plastic cone! And I am happy to hear Grayson is back to acting like his usual self!
And awwww!! Happy 33rd Anniversary!
